We met on a blind date, New Years Eve 2005. Then officially started dating in Feb. 2006. We went to see Big and Rich at the rodeo for our first date. We have had an incredible journey since then.
Highlights of 2006- Ryan's daughter Addison was born. Dylan, my mom and I went to Disney World in April for Dylan's 2nd time! I graduated from Texas State University and then Ryan and I celebrated by traveling to Cabo San Lucas for marlin fishing right before Christmas.
Highlights of 2007- Ryan was transfered to Santa Fe, New Mexico to work on a museum. It was a great place to visit and I spotted my beautiful wedding ring at a store on the Plaza in downtown Santa Fe. Funny thing is.. Ryan spotted the same ring. Dylan, my mom and I went to Disney World AGAIN! I started teaching 4th grade.
Highlights of 2008- This was a busy year for us!! Ryan flew me out in March to visit. We talked about engagement and he said I had to try the ring on as it is so different. Which it is VERY different than a normal ring. I decided to think about the ring overnight. That night, he surprised me with the solitare diamond that would go in my ring. The next day, we went back to Santa Fe Goldworks (my ring is similiar to the 3rd one) and chose my ring to be custom made! It has 26 diamands, australian Opals, and a nice pear shaped diamond on top! We got engaged on March 6th. Then we got married shortly later on July 18th in St.John, USVI on a beautiful beach with friends and family surrounding us. We had a reception back home for friends and family that could not come to the wedding. I got transfered to a new elementary school opening and taught 3rd grade. It was a busy summer! I was elected grade-level chair and had lots of extra duties getting the school ready for the 1st day! We also found out that we were pregnant, but unfortunetly I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks (and on the first day of school!). But then, I got pregnant again just 6 weeks later and had a semi-great pregnancy! This was an extremely exhausting year!
Highlights of 2009- Ryan surprised me with a last minute Lake Tahoe/ San Francisco trip before the baby arrived! Brody James was born on June 5th (last week of school) and just missed his big brothers birthday by 2 days. I was induced 4 weeks early as I had pre-eclampsia. I had to have an amnio the day before he was born to make sure his lungs were ok. Luckily, he was born very healthy! I made a hard decision in July to resign. I worked so hard to get to where I was at, but I was being moved to 1st grade and planned to take family leave which would of brought me into the school year in Oct. I wasn't sure how I'd do coming into a class that late in which I had never taught before! I was then able to stay at home with Brody and go into Ryan's office several times a week to help out before Brody became too mobile. Then I would do work from home. Dylan was in the 2nd grade and continued with baseball and has become a great player!
Highlights of 2010- Our life is finally starting to slow down a bit (not much, but a little!). I continued to stay home with Brody and would substitute when my friends called me. We started a new business called San Antonio Renovations which does home remodeling. I had lots of friends asking for Ryan's help, so I started the residential company. We did Disney World with Mimi (and finally got Ryan to come with us) in May. We enjoyed 4 days/5 nights at the awesome military resort Shades of Green and Disney!
