Pig Show!

Dylan did excellent in the Guadalupe County Youth Show.  He got 3rd place which we are very proud of him.  While we still think his pig looked the best, each judge has their own thing they look for.  The judge even said that he had a great looking pig but said she looked tired and could of been walking faster.  We have always told Dylan to walk his pig at a nice and steady rate so he did nothing wrong, his pig wasn't tired, it was just something the judge was picky on.

Brody was a great helper the two days at the show barn.  He made sure Wiggles was nice and cool by spraying water on her and lots of the other pigs too!

After the show, we got one last picture before Wiggles was loaded up.

The next day was the sale.  We made up a buyers basket full of goodies.  He was nervous to go up on stage, so Brody went with him (even though Brody looked more nervous up there!).  He didn't get as much as we would of liked but we are still learning the ropes of how to get better bidders.  We lucked out and the guy sitting next to us, Ryan friended and started talking to him.  He was one of the Top 20 buyers and ended up buying Dylan's pig.

Ryan worked very hard this year in getting Dylan Add-Ons (money added to the buyers price).  He was put on the Sale Committee and is learning the ropes of that and also how political the whole thing is.  The Add-Ons he got covered the price of the pig, food, and fee's (which cost around $1400) and we had plenty left over to give us a positive and make up for last years deficit!  We were also able to distribute around $700 of Dylans Add on money to a few of the kids in his chapter that we know work hard and could use the extra money.
